Laguindingan Airport will become the “busiest regional transportation hub”, this is according to Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Airport Manager Engr. Jose Budiongan as the government announced the start of regular night scheduled flights at the said airport last Sunday. More details HERE.
Meanwhile, Department of Tourism Regional Director Catalino ‘Butch’ Chan III said the start of regular night flights is a big boost to the hotel industry in Cagayan de Oro. The city is now re-gaining confidence as a convention capital in Northern Mindanao after what happened at Limketkai in 2013 .
Meanwhile, a Cebu Pacific A320 operated by Tiger Airways last Sunday from Manila supposedly scheduled to arrive at Laguindingan at 9:30pm finally touched down at 10:06pm. The delay was due to the usual aircraft situation in NAIA. This was the first scheduled night flight from Manila to Cagayan de Oro.
Staff from SEDA Hotel were seen at the airport welcoming the passengers of the first night flight from Manila.
