RAFTHON, the unique Raft-Run-Fellowship fun and adventure in Cagayan de Oro City which has been widely promoted for several months now will finally have its first exhibition game on March 7, 2015.
This will be the first time … in fact… it’s a first ever in the World to be conducted. The exhibition game will feature six teams only. Here’s a quick overview of RAFTHON:
RAFTHON will be a team effort composed of 3 males and 3 females. Since swimming is replaced by rafting, it will be easier for anyone to experience Rafthon especially all equipment and guides are provided in a Team.
More than a sport it is a great way to bond and learn the essence of teamwork. In terms of representation, any Team can join and can represent a school, LGUs, organizations, companies and even a barkada name. This is a great way to promote and get maximum exposure at a minimal cost. Aside from the overall winners, special awards are given to the top ten individuals of each category.
The most important part of Rafthon, it is our very own Filipino brand which will help the tourism of our country. The highlight will be the Higalaay Fellowship as the closing and awarding part of the event which aims to promote different Mindanao Culture and share the Higalaay Spirit to uplift the current reputation and put to end the misconception about Mindanao.
Therefore, solving the stigma about Mindanao will open the doors for more Tourism related opportunities for the rest of the regions. Having the combined formula of Rafthon to attract while the Higalaay Fellowship is to sustain Tourism that makes Cagayan De Oro, not only as the gateway to Northern Mindanao but potentially the whole Philippines.
The final RAFTHON is set in April 2015.
