Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno led members of the Local School Board (LSB), officials from the Department of Education (DepEd), Barangay Nazareth council, teachers, parents and students in the ceremonial groundbreaking of the new 80-classroom, 4-storey school building of the Cagayan de Oro City National High School (CDONHS) in its new school site in Barangay Nazareth yesterday, February 24, 2015.

According to Mayor Moreno, the school is the biggest in the division of Cagayan de Oro and the city’s pride. Funds for the construction of the new school building of the CDONHS will come from the Special Education Fund from the taxes paid by people in Real Property Tax. 


It was revealed that more than 4,000 students are currently enrolled in CDONHS and experiencing double shifting because of the lack of classrooms.
