A 12-foot “Green” Xmas Tree now stands – lit with blue LED lights at the triangle island area at the junction of Corrales Extension and Gaabucayan Streets, boundaries of Brgy 21, 22 and 23. This is a joint project of Miss Cagayan de Oro and Barangay 21 Chair Gigi Go.

This Christmas Tree is made of drift wood stacked on top of each other to create a shape of a usual Christmas tree-painted in white. The materials have been sourced out from the river banks that either been washed out by typhoon and floods or fallen trees.

The triangle area is now enjoying a makeover look for the holidays as Brgy. Chair Gigi Go vows to make holiday installations every year in the said area.

Miss CDO Bea Alvarez on the other hand is delighted with the partnership as their project contribution for Pasko de Oro in the city. Project consultant, Gean T. Cesar on the other hand says, this kind of project will now become an annual collaboration project of Brgy 21 with Miss CDO Committee.

By January 2015, a school-based project will be implemented by Miss CDO as part of their advocacy on youth empowerment.
