A lot of developments have arrived at the small agricultural town of Laguindingan after the airport began its operations last year.
The widening of the National Highway ushered of good things to come as businesses continue to pour into the municipality. The construction of the island also made it safer for townsfolk and more accustomed to street and pedestrian crossings. But one thing which catches their attention are the solar powered street lights built on the island. As shown, one solar panel is installed per street light.
During the day, power is harvested and stored in a battery and then used at night.
At night, motorists are also guided by these reflectorized markings placed on the island as shown.
Hopefully, these solar powered street lights would extend to the neighboring towns.
