Motorists travelling through Marcos Bridge in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines are often amazed by the sight of these “birds on wires”.

These small feathered vertebrates are seen usually at dusk and through the night. Some say these are migratory birds and are not seen during the day. As shown (photos courtesy of Janey Montebon Duterte), the birds come in great numbers for a night sleep. Perhaps biologists can name the species…. and this is a good site for bird watchers.

You won’t notice them from a distance… until you take a closer look.

A slow moving vehicle or if you’re stuck in traffic could provide a good shot of the birds. A much better capture will result if you will purposely walk along the bridge.
