After more than a year of operations, the air traffic controllers at Laguindingan Airport (ICAO: RPMY) have finally transferred to the Control Tower Building last October 21, 2014.

They were previously and temporarily occupying an 18-square meter room at the Crash, Fire and Rescue Building pending the completion of the Control Tower Building. The tower is equipped with an integrated High frequency radio system, a voice recording system and a meteorological information system. Pilots can seek taxi, landing and takeoff clearances via the primary frequency of 118.6 MHz.

With the operation of the control tower and the completion of air navigational facilities, official night flights at the airport may just  be sooner with the coming Christmas holidays.
