Cagayan de Oro’s John Paul “Poy” Erram, although drafted in the PBA last year but never got to play, made history yesterday scoring the first ever two points at the Philippine Arena during the opening of the PBA’s 40th Season playing for Blackwater Elite.
Meanwhile, the 6’8 Erram also drew Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s first foul as a professional basketball player. Photo above shows the incident where Erram towering over Pacquiao and eventually stealing the ball from the “Pambansang Kamao”. In frustration, Pacquiao tried to steal the ball back but was called for his first ever foul in the PBA.
Erram finished with 10 points in his pro debut but Pacquiao’s Kia Sorento prevailed in the end 80-66. A record 52,612 fans packed the Philippine Arena (LINK)
