iCARE (Intervention Center for Autism and Related Exceptionalities), the first ABA therapy center in the City will celebrate its First Year Anniversary this September 21-28, 2014 with a theme “Loving, Learning and Caring for Children with Special Needs”.
In celebration of its first year anniversary, iCARE will hold two (2) major events. First, a sensory-free movie feature entitled “Planes 2” on September 21, 2014 at 10:00 in the morning at SM Cinema 1, SM Mastersons Avenue, Cagayan de Oro City. A Sensory Free Film Presentation is the first of its kind in Cagayan de Oro City especially catered to children with special needs. This sensory-friendly movie feature was organized by iCARE in partnership with cooperation with SM Supermalls, SM Cinema and SM Cares. SM Cinema is reserving 100 seats for children with special needs for iCARE clients and students from the City Central and West City Central Special Education Class.
Second, there will be a seminar for parents, caregivers, teachers and students on September 28, 2014 at the VIP Hotel,1:00-5:00 in the afternoon. There will be three (3) distinguished speakers for the said event. Two (2) Special Education Experts from Manila and One (1) from the Commission on Human Rights here in the City. The seminar topics will include: First, “The Rights and Privileges of Special Kids and their Families”; Second is “Special Education: Its Importance and Benefits”; and Finally, “Effective Behavior Management Techniques”.
