With the success of the 18th edition of Kumbira, one can say that Cagayan de Oro City is truly a culinary destination.

The success of the competition may be attributed to the increasing number of culinary schools who have joined the event. No less than the country’s best culinary judges are in town. A big spillover of Kumbira is the opening of new restaurants on the city. As new cooking skills are presented each year, new investors are banking on the city’s local pool of capable chefs. Likewise, Sinuglaw is now synonymous with the city. Indeed, the food business has been booming in the city.
