Cagayan de Oro City’s Tourism Board is planning to amend City Ordinance No. 5239-96 specifically some provisions which classify hotels, pension houses, resorts and other similar establishments.
The said ordinance was enacted in 1996 and the last few years saw the mushrooming of many accommodation facilities in the city. yet, many of these new hotels and related establishments have not secured accreditation from the Department of Tourism (DOT). With the city poised as a convention center, amendments need to be made.
