Let us revisit Cagayan de Oro’s whitewater rafting industry which made the city as the country’s adventure capital.

Some 5,000 tourists visit the city to try whitewater rafting every year.

From the map below, the START for ADVANCE COURSE is at Uguiaban Bridge while BEGINNERS START at Brgy. Mambuaya. Uguiaban Bridge links Cagayan de Oro with the town of Talakag in Bukidnon. PUT IN area is where tourists wear their vests and gear with some safety lectures. The time indicated along the route is the estimated interval in between rapids. Some names of the rapids may have been changed already but the locations remained the same. Also, the route provides a great view of the countryside with Cagayan de Oro on the left and Bukidnon on the right.

Most rapids are classified as CLASS III based on the International Scale of River Difficultry (LINK).
