Have you ever wondered why your lolo and lola in Cagayan de Oro call airplanes as “idro”?
This is because the very first aircraft which arrived in the city was a “HYDROPLANE”, or a SEAPLANE which is an airplane which can “land” on water. Shown above is the photo of that historic day when the seaplane safely arrived at Macajalar Bay. Back then, locals named it “idro” or short for idroplane.
