Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation’s multi-billion peso Northern Mindanao Import Facility (NMIF) currently under construction in Cagayan de Oro is expected to cater to the power and energy needs of millions of residents, motorists and other end-users and consumers in Visayas and Mindanao.
In the company’s press release, the NMIF will provide an additional source point for fuels that can be distributed to depots in the Visayas and Mindanao. The facility will contribute to increased security of energy supply as it will provide additional storage capacity of finished petroleum products. At the same time, the facility will also help reduce maritime risks as source of petroleum products is closer to the intended distribution points.
