The Japanese government recently turned over to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) last Friday, March 14, two units of amphibious excavator-dredgers in fitting ceremony in Cagayan de Oro City.
The turnover ceremony was led by Minister Akio Isomata of Japan’s Minister of Economic Affairs and attended by Mr. Akio Yonezawa of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, DPWH 10 Asst. Regional Director Efren Barba, City Mayor Oscar Moreno, and Rep. Rufus Rodriguez (2nd District), among others. The project is part of a Japan-funded Non-Project Grant Aid for the Restoration and Disaster Prevention in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental.
Aside from dredgers, fishing nets were also turned over. See photo below.
