Construction of the river dike at Duaw Park continues and is now slowly isolating the globe lights installed at the park.

The contractor is now building the foundations for the dike starting at the back of the St. Augustine Rectory Building.IMG_4677  IMG_4679 IMG_4680 IMG_4681 IMG_4682

You could see the line of sheet piles marking the location of the flood wall.IMG_4683

Below is the billboard installed onsite showing the project details. It shows the flood wall is set for completion in April this year.IMG_4696 IMG_4697 IMG_4698 IMG_4699 IMG_4700

There’s another billboard under the bridge and is for the revetment project.

You could see the line of sheet piles is some 20 meters further inland from the current riverside (globe lights). Perhaps this is now the new riverside which would widen the width of the river at this section.

The flood wall seems to be higher and as tall as the second level of the rectory.

Sheet piling is now also ongoing at the City Hall side. Based on the project detail, the dike is 146 meters long.IMG_4706

Meanwhile, the dike at the Carmen side is almost done.

Further upstream, work on the flood control project along Carmen is also progressing.
