Ever since the Licoan flyover in Cagayan de Oro was opened to vehicular traffic in 2011, there have been numerous incidents of traffic violations committed by motorists on the use of the flyover the most common is the entry of motorcycles and large trailer trucks.

It was disclosed during the inauguration by virtue of Executive Order 081-2011 that motorcycles and large trailer trucks are not allowed (LINK) but there was no traffic sign to inform motorists. And finally, the sign was installed at the foot of the flyover as shown. It even had a “Filipino” translation under it. But still, many motorists ignore this sign and there are simply no apprehending traffic officer at the other end of the flyover. The putting of CCTVs in the area also could have helped in identifying violators.
