The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has responded to the letter of Oro Chamber President Efren Uy on the Possible Temporary Use of Lumbia Airport to Minimize Cancellations.

As expected, the CAAP turned down the request citing several reasons including visibility requirement and cost of maintaining two airports. CAAP also cited a new technology called Performance Based Navigation (PBN), which will be available upon the completion of the airfield lighting installation and approach lighting system targeted on May/June 2014.
