Travelers bound to and from Cagayan de Oro experienced the inconvenience brought about by flight cancellations and delays at Laguindingan Airport.
Many re-booked their flights, shifted to boat travel, totally canceled their tickets and incurred costs related to cancellations and delays such as hotel, food, transportation and other expenses. But do you know that under the Joint DOTC-DTI Administrative Order No. 01 or the Air Passenger Bill of Rights, passengers are entitled to three major rights: (1) Right to be provided with accurate information before purchase; (2) Right to receive the full value of the service purchased; and (3) Right to compensation.
We’ll focus on the 3rd – Right to compensation. A 2-page summary is shown below and is self explanatory.
Hope the riding public are aware of these rights.
