Bus routes from Cagayan de Oro to the cities of Ozamiz, Pagadian, Dipolog and Zamboanga and vice versa are currently unavailable after the Napo Bridge linking the towns of Linamon and Kauswagan in Lanao del Norte collapsed Monday night.
Continuous heavy rains brought about by a lingering low pressure area caused the Napo River to swell and affected half of the bridge. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now reportedly addressing the problem as long lines of stranded commuters and motorists have developed on both sides of the river. Motorized bancas is currently the only mode of transportation crossing the river.
