Nef Luczon’s “DIRE HUSI” (Here, My Friend) won Best Documentary in the just concluded Piling Obrang Vidyo 1o presented by U.P. Cinema in partnership with PostManila, Inc. and Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc.

The film’s synopsis is shown below:

When a community of indigenous tribe decides to adopt Rhyan Casiño, who was a naturally-born “settler,” the journey on bringing back their identity through the arts was quite tumultuous until Rhyan formed “Dire Husi,” and passed what he learned from the tribe to the youths that were mostly forsaken by time and society.

It is directed by Nef Luczon in collaboration with the students under the Department of Technology Communication Management and Aesthetikos: The Film and Literature Society, both from Mindanao University of Science and Technology. Dire Husi is the only film from Visayas and Mindanao which made it to the finals of POV 10.
