As Christmas is just a mere six days away, traffic in Cagayan de Oro City is getting worse every minute.
This is the final week of classes and unless the city’s Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) already have a plan of implementation, this coming weekend is probably a nightmare for motorists as bumper to bumper traffic in the city’s major thoroughfares, particularly roads leading to the city’s major malls and public markets will test the motorists’ patience. Further, most Christmas parties are also set this week and a lot more holiday activities are also scheduled on the final days before Christmas.
Photos below taken along Maharlika Bridge eastbound at around 3:30pm shows slow moving traffic from as far as Kauswagan-RER Junction. The good thing is that traffic is still moving. Hopefully, and finger’s crossed, enough RTA personnel as well as volunteers are assigned in major intersections in the city until Christmas Day…and the days before New Year.
