These are rare pictures of the old Limketkai Mall way back in the early 1990s when it was first constructed.
Limketkai Center posted in its facebook account a few weeks back these following set of pictures of the mall still under construction. This is the first batch which I will be re-posting and sharing.
First photo shows the open air mall way maybe at the North Concourse since it indicated “facing…arcade store”. Arcade could have been Rosario Arcade.
Photo below shows ongoing construction of the mall. Date stamp indicates 1991.
The McDonald’s building is still under construction – 1991.
First photo of the large McDonald’s billboard. The mall in the background is nearing completion.
This is probably the North Concourse entrance canopy.
The mall’s main entrance (East Concourse) in those days… Mercury Drug on the right is still occupying the same space today.
Below is the mall’s open air Rotunda. Bump cars can be found at the covered center.
Below is the east entrance canopy.
The old McDonalds Limketkai…
Below is the old Kagay-anon Restaurant now occupied by the Shopwise and indoor carpark. The said restaurant has since relocated to its present location just near Rosario Strip.
The vacant grassy space occupied by some military transports is where the present day parking area across Robinsons is located.
This is Limketkai Avenue near National Highway (CM Recto) junction. The said road was not yet open to public routes.
