Francesca’s – a unique legacy restaurant in Cagayan de Oro worth visiting recently had its soft opening.
The diner is located at Marfori Compound and has two entrances – one along Pabayo Street and the other on the side within Marfori Compound. It is owned by Dr. Francisco Hipona, a scion of the Neri family in the city.
Here’s a shot of their menu… they’re still working on it.
Below is the more updated menu.
Aside from the deliciously prepared food, the restaurant offers memorabilia from the private collections of the Neri Family. In fact, you can find the Neri Family Tree in one of the walls of Francesca’s.
Below are some of the private antique collections which include an old Spanish-era cannon, a piano, pottery, stamps, old family photos and others which resembles ancient history.
The interiors are very spacious with an ambiance conducive for both business or personal talk.
While eating, you can literally wander around the diner with all of the old family tradition and collections.
Some of their collections are found “within” some of the tables like the one below.
Here is a genealogy prepared by a Jesuit priest who is also part of the Neri family.
One photo even had the family member’s names and birth dates.
So, one of these days, you might want to drop by Francesca’s – connecting the past to the present and perhaps, you may learn some history of the city.
