Former world chess champion Gary Kasparov, considered to be one of the greatest chess players of all time, ponders his next move in a chess game against Philippine Senator from Cagayan de Oro City Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.

Pimentel was once a chess standout in his younger years for Ateneo de Manila University and the University of the Philippines. I have read in one of his articles that Senator Koko even had a chess book signed personally by his idol Gary Kasparov (when he was here in the Philippines during the Chess Olympiad). The now 50-year old Kasparov is currently in Manila as part of his Asian swing trying to got votes from different chess federations for the FIDE (International Chess Federation) presidency.

Guess who won the game…
