Last night, truckloads of steel bars and other construction materials were delivered and unloaded at the vacant space along the northern portion of Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) in Cagayan de Oro City.
Pile driving works were conducted in the said area in late 2011 up to early last year (November 5, 2011 – LINK), and March 6, 2012 – LINK). It was previously believed to be the Heart, Lung, and Kidney Center. Then for several months, no activity was observed at the site until last night. Photos taken today showed ground works are back at the site and the materials onsite indicate vertical construction is next.
I just don’t know but this could also be the proposed P90 million 6-storey new hospital building and another P75 million 6-storey new ward building as shown below.
All projects have already been awarded to winning contractors and issued a NOTICE TO PROCEED as shown below.
Below is the development plan (no high-res image available) for NMMC. It shows buildings on the northern part along National Highway.
Meanwhile, extension of the Out Patient Department (OPD) is now underway. The extension is towards the eastern section along Corrales Avenue.
Below is the rendering of the OPD Extension along Corrales Avenue.
Here are more plans and layouts of the project designed to further improve NMMC.
