Here’s a recent photo update of ongoing construction by the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) of the Alae by-pass Road, so called “Container Highway”.

As shown above, road concreting is already underway. My previous update of this project was May 16, 2013 last year. LINK. Update from DWPH revealed the project is already 90% completed as of August 31, 2013 (SOURCE) as shown below.


This 17-kilometer highway costs P1 billion and will connect Barangay Alae in Manolo Fortich town in Bukidnon to the Mindanao International Container Terminal (MCT) in PHIVIDEC, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. The road will help decongest traffic in Puerto area in Cagayan de Oro City and also avoid the zigzagging section of the Sayre Highway which has caused numerous accidents involving trucks and containers.
