The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has extended the center island along CM Recto Avenue up to the area fronting Limketkai Gateway and Mindanao University of Science & Technology (MUST).

As shown, concrete blocks are now placed along the center line of CM Recto Avenue fronting Tune Hotel towards Limketkai Gateway.

The placing of these concrete blocks will prevent any u-turn of vehicles on both lanes along CM Recto except at intersections.IMG_1046

The center islands stretches up to Gaisano City area.

Here’s a closer look of the center island. It’s too low and stubborn pedestrians can still hurdle the island.

The finished island will look like this.

So what’s next? The CM Recto-Limketkai junction is one chaotic intersection. Perhaps a traffic light is needed in the area more than just the island.
