Judge Joeffre Willkom Acebido, presiding judge of Branch 41 of the Regional Trial Court of Misamis Oriental, was recently conferred the Outstanding Sillimanian Award during the 112th Founders Day last August 28, 2013 at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium, Silliman University.
Below is an excerpt of the article:
Nominated by the Cagayan de Oro alumni chapter, Judge Acebido graduated in 1986 with a bachelor of laws from Silliman University. Described as the “epitome of excellence in the judiciary,” he has set the bar for competence and efficiency in his less than 10 years as a judge. This is evident in his effective management of the docket of his court, Branch 41 of the Regional Trial Court of Misamis Oriental, where he is presiding judge. When the Supreme Court designated him as the acting presiding judge of Branch 39, he maximized job efficiency in the court. The same was true in Branch 22, a family court and in Branch 44 where he also served as acting presiding judge. A professor of law, Judge Acebido was awarded the Chief Justice Cayetano Arellano Award for Judicial Excellence as Outstanding Regional Trial Court Judge in the Philippines in 2011 and was presented the 2010 Outstanding Alumnus Professional Award by the Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan Alumni Association.
