Cagayan de Oro City is the most competitive city in the country, according to the 2013 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index.
See some of the slides below during the presentation held July 30, 2013. First is the cover. CLICK THE IMAGE FOR LARGER VIEW.
A brief explanation on data gathering and analysis and the factors…Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency and Infrastructure.
And then the Top 5 Competitive Cities were named…
Further, below are the city rankings 6-50. Ozamiz City (27th) and Oroquieta City (37th), both in Misamis Occidental were the only other cities in Northern Mindanao in the top 50.
Meanwhile, nearby Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon is the most competitive municipality in the region ranking 21st nationwide followed by Mambajao in Camiguin and Maramag also in Bukidnon.
By the way, here are some slides wherein Cagayan de Oro fared well. CDO is 7th in Economic Dynamism.
CDO ranked 3rd in Government Efficiency.
And in infrastructure, CDO is 3rd.
CDO is 5th in number of ATMs in the country.
Guess what, Cagayan de Oro only trails Manila in the number of hotel rooms!…and the data doesn’t even include hotel facilities which only opened this year like the 159-room Tune Hotel.
I just selected these slides to highlight some of the achievements.
