A mock booking for Philippine Airlines (PAL) interestingly showed night flights at Laguindingan Airport beginning October 27, 2013.
If you try to book a flight (CGY-MNL) on October 27 at PAL’s website HERE, you will notice a 9:05pm flight (PR 528) departing from CGY as shown below. A footnote indicates that the flight is “operated by another airline”. This schedule does not exist prior to October 27. CLICK THE IMAGE FOR LARGER VIEW.
Likewise, the mock booking return flight to CGY from MNL (PR 527) also shows an evening flight departing from NAIA at 7:00pm and arriving at Laguindingan Airport at 8:35pm. A summary of the flight itinerary booking the night flights is shown below and consistently showed the same evening schedules. CLICK THE IMAGE FOR LARGER VIEW.
Could this be a glitch in their online booking system? Everyone knows Laguindingan Airport is still not capable of handling night flights due to the absence of navigational equipment. I tried similar mock bookings at Cebu Pacific but did not get the evening schedules. Perhaps, this is related to DOTC’s plan to night-rate the airport before the end of the year. LINK
