Demolition of the old Coca-Cola bottling plant located along CM Recto-Osmeña Streets in now ongoing.

As shown, you can now see the steel trusses of what used to be the main building of the bottling facility as the demolition contractor has started to remove the building components. These complex has been a major landmark in the city for several decades until the beverage firm decided to relocate to a much larger area in Villanueva town.

Demolition started at the back of the property and slowly progressing towards the front. By the time the remaining concrete wall along the roads are removed, the interior would have been cleared.

You can see a huge crane inside the complex assisting the demolition works. The crane hoists the large compartments removed which could be sold as scrap.

The demolition works is part of the site preparation activities for SM’s second mall in Cagayan de Oro to be built at the nearly 3-hectare property.
