Oscar Seriña Moreno took his oath today at historic Kiosko Kagawasan (Freedom Kiosk) at the new City Mayor of Cagayan de Oro.
Former Senator Aquilino Pimentel, Jr. administered the oath taking ceremony witnessed by hundreds of supporters and guests.
Gov. Moreno was born in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental to Dr. Emeterio A. Moreno Sr. and Milagros Roa Seriña, a retired public school teacher and music instructor. He is married to Arlene Parado Pasion from Laoag City and Dingras, Ilocos Norte with whom he is blessed with three children – Sean Oliver, Imee Rose and Oscar Jr. Coincidentally, as per Mayor Moreno, his wife’s great grandmother is the sister of the mother of former City Mayor Justiniano Borja, considered the best mayor the city ever had.
In his speech after the oath taking, Moreno emphasized to work not for re-election but for the best government service.
Senator-elect Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III also took his oath from Mayor Moreno. This is his 2nd oath-taking, the first being at Congress.
In his speech, Pimentel thanked his supporters and vowed to work in making the city the model modern city in the country now that all the city leaders are united.
The very eloquent Rufus Rodriguez also took his oath for his third and final term as 2nd District Representative.
His brother, Maximo Rodriguez also took his oath as Party List representative for ABAMIN.
Maxi Rodriguez thanked the crowed by making ABAMIN ranked 15th among Party List groups in the country during the last elections.
Rolando Uy also took his oath as newly elected Congressman of the city’s 1st District. I wasn’t able to take photos of his oath taking.
