The need to immediately expand the Laguindingan Airport became more evident during the very first day of operations as departing passengers packed the baggage check-in section of the terminal building.
The new terminal opened at maximum capacity of 1.6 million passengers annually. Lumbia Airport terminal which is very much smaller was overcrowded most of the time. The new terminal is accordingly three times the size of Lumbia and is still packed as shown in the photos below. Long lines at each counter are observed.
Digital display of flights.
By the way, brand new trolleys are seen inside the terminal.
The newly opened Seattle’s Best Coffee and Kenny Rogers Roasters.
The baggage retrieval area for arriving passengers.
Toilet facilities for She, PWD, and He…
Some of the tourism advertisements at the terminal…
This is just Day 1. Expect more improvements in the coming days.
