Here are latest photo updates of the construction of JR Borja Bridge, the 6th concrete bridge across Cagayan de Oro River.
As shown, pile driving of sheet piles is ongoing. The sheet piles are installed to protect the temporary levee where heavy machinery will locate to conduct concrete pile driving for the bridge’s main piers. I believe these sheet piles will be removed after the bridge’s main supports are done.
The temporary levee has now reached halfway across the river.
You could see the sheet piles.
The sheet piles will prevent the dumped soil from being carried away by river currents.
Huge culverts are also installed for river water to flow.
Photos were taken during lunchtime … rest for workers.
More sheet piles are seen at right.
The huge mound of soil at left will be sued as filling material.
Huge 5-feet diameter culverts will be used.
