Taken aboard an aircraft on its descent to Cagayan de Oro’s Lumbia Airport at around 8:55pm, June 1, 2013. Please bear with us on the quality of the pictures.
First photo shows some lights along the coast of Macajalar Bay, probably near Tagoloan. A ship is seen at the bottom of the photo.
Next image shows Bugo area (near left) probably Del Monte cannery and the stretch from Bugo towards Gusa area.
As the plane makes its final descent, the Cagayan de Oro port and Macabalan-Puntod area emerges with the mouth of the Cagayan de Oro River just below it.
Next image shows the brightened CDO 3rd Bridge (Puntod-Kauswagan) and Kauswagan area. Note the bright lights in the horizon along CM Recto Avenue.
The plane continues to fly across the city’s center. This time showing much of Kauswagan (foreground) and Lapasan area (background).
The brightened CM Recto Avenue is now very much visible at the right section of the photo below.
The plane prepares to approach the runway and the image now shows the neon lights dominate the city’s major roadways.
Photo below shows the whole stretch of CM Recto Avenue including Maharlika Bridge at the center. You can notice Pelaez Sports Complex (lighted green portion) at right.
The city proper is now shown with Divisoria at right.
A sudden shaking caused this picture to be blurred as the plane passes the city center.
The two bridges (Ysalina) and Kagay-an are now clearly visible. Masterson Avenue and Carmen Flyover is also shown.
The plane is now in the uptown area. In the background are the city proper (left) and Nazareth and Macasandig areas (right).
The residential suburbs of Macanhan, Nazareth and Macasandig are featured in this pic. The plane’s speed has now affected the picture.
Another photo of Macanhan (foreground) and Macasandig (background).
And finally, the final approach towards the runway and now hovering Pueblo de Oro with junction of Masterson Avenue and Macapagal Drive shown below. This is just beside SM City.
Cagayan de Oro indeed is a well-lighted city at night.
