Homegrown Parasat Cable TV has partnered with Bayan Telecommunications (BayanTel) in bringing to Mindanao the first true and affordable “triple play” service by launching the first “voice over broadband” (VOB) offering in the market.
A cutting-edge technology, VOB enables the delivery of an integrated voice service with cable-Internet and/or cable TV subscription. This means that voice, Internet, and cable TV will pass through a single cable transmission.
CDO-based Parasat Cable TV, Mindanao’s leading digital cable TV service provider which operates Cable 21 Technologies, it’s cable broadband service arm, at a press launch held at the Gloria Maris Restaurant in Limketkai Mall, unveiled this groundbreaking technology.
At the product presentation held during the event, Parasat executives explained that VOB technology is a voice service that will be transmitted via the broadband network of Cable 21.
This means existing Parasat cable TV and Cable 21 broadband internet subscribers can now avail of VOB service on top of their present subscription service, providing them with seamless and integrated connectivity.
Parasat Cable TV President Elpidio M. Paras said this new offering will bring to subscribers the convenience of having a cable TV, internet and landline in one single bundled service package instead of having 3 separate subscriptions.
“Our triple play bundled service will also now make more affordable and within reach of families who want to avail of cable, broadband internet and landline calling services,” Paras said.
Parasat has partnered with Bayan Telecommunications Inc. for the voice service feature of this triple play offering which will initially be available in CDO area and will eventually be expanded to cover the other service areas of Parasat such as the municipalities of Opol, Tagoloan, Balingasag and Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental, and Malaybalay, Valencia and San Carlos in Bukidnon
