Over 30,000 students from different STI Campuses across the country will once again experience a one-of-a-kind learning opportunity as STI holds its 18th National Youth Convention (NYC) in key cities nationwide.

The STI National Youth Convention is the highly anticipated annual gathering of STI students that provides an alternative and innovative learning venue for students to discover the latest trends in technology, acquire the most in-demand and job-ready skills, and interact with fellow STIers from different STI campuses.

With the theme “STI Extreme: Unleash the X Factors in You,” the 18th STI NYC aims to empower the students with knowledge, expertise, and values that will help them become more productive members of their communities and outstanding professionals in the future.

The convention covers various topics that are highly relevant among today’s youth with the guidance of seasoned professionals and inspirational speakers from different industries.

The first topic, “Extreme Definition: Exercise Your Beliefs,” will be tackled by veteran broadcast journalist Ms. Jing Castañeda to encourage the students to become participative, responsible, and conscientious individuals. On the other hand, trainer and motivational speaker Mr. Alvin Belen will highlight the importance of teamwork and strong sense of community through the second topic, “Extreme Connection: Explore Your Network.” Lastly, “Extreme Revolution: Expand Your Horizons” will be discussed by Mr. Jet Nera, Managing Director of SHINE-JGNera Training Consultants, to inspire the students to become lifelong learners and pursue excellence in all facets of life.

Following the successful kick-off at the CAP Convention Center in Camp John Hay, Baguio City on November 29, 2012, and a series of highly-successful stops in Visayas, the 18th STI NYC took on Manila on February 6 to 8, 2013 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. The educational caravan continues in Cagayan De Oro on February 22, 2013 at The Atrium, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City.

The convention will run until March 12, 2013 with further stops in General Santos, Davao, Legazpi, and Puerto Princesa.
