Filipinos love kinilaw, and there are many versions in the country on how they are prepared. But one thing that makes kinilaw in Northern Mindanao different from other kinilaw is the tabon tabon fruit (Scientific name: atuna racemosa).

Apparently, this brown colored fruit is native to Northern Mindanao and Camiguin Island but has close relatives in other parts of Southeast Asia and the South Pacific.
