Brazilian model and host Daiana Menezes is now engaged to Rep. Jose Benjamin “Benjo” Benaldo of Cagayan de Oro.

Menezes revealed the engagement in an interview with “KrisTV” on Thursday. “Engaged kami but we call ourselves ‘asawa’ na,” the Brazilian beauty said, adding that they might get married next year. According to Menezes, she met the congressman only last January. “Parang ang bilis, hindi ba?” Menezes told host Kris Aquino. She said the lawmaker proposed to her under the Eiffel Tower in Paris. After the proposal they went to Brazil, where Benaldo meet Menezes’ parents. Before Benaldo, the Brazilian was previously engaged to TV director GB Sampedro before their controversial break up last year.

i’m not here to interrupt or disappoint anyone nor i  am here to stand with this politician against you. but this is a freedom country. we are in democracy and we have the right to fall in love. the right to get married to the woman that we are looking for. the right to find happiness. a happiness that every noble profession that the world ever has. at least they went into legal unity. they will bind themselves in front of our Lord. and there’s nothing wrong with that. they have the right to get what they want as long as they didn’t hurt others. standing against them, i don’t see any reason for everyone to react ‘overly’ in this matter. we may have the right to express our appreciation or neglect but let them be have the peace of mind with holiness and sanctity with the Lord as they bind themselves together. this is so nothing personal to us. let the political overboard set aside. this is their time. they are showing what love truly is whatever their race, social stand, and personal career. thanks.. just be open-minded guys :)

Ploy publicity campaign, why can’t politicians utilize their Resume’ or achievement while on the position for campaign? Rather using showbiz style tactics. Kagay-anon badly need genuine public servants who can help alleviate the surviving city; specially most of the populations are striving to move forward out from chronic catastrophe.
CDO politics is not a venue for entertainment where show boarding up on the stage is plausible “who had the better pose or who had the thicker foundation on their faces”
They may realize the dill never worked on Mar Roxas campaign having Korina Sanchez in his side.
    Rubbish, disgusting way of publicity.
I’m not against though timing is bad..

Basig kailangan diay pud niya for legislation research para mulambo iya distrito sa CDO. Murag ga anticipate na ko bongga ug expensive wedding soon. I just hope it comes from their pockets ang gasto. Kay daghan pa jud kailangan gastuson unta sa iya distrito. Wala ko angal sa gugma, knung tinood man, basta dili lang kwaon sa pork barrel ang pan date.

Barato raman ang Brazil kaya lang walay direct flights from Manila to Latin America (ironic for a country who shares a rich cultural historiography with this bloc) mao nang mo mahal literally ma libot nimo ang kalibutan halfway!

Benjo does not come from poor family nor rich family either. They are average family where his father is working in the government. I know Benjo because we were classmates at Xavier, he is typical boy next door. What matter most is when he enter politics Benjo never the same again, he became extravagant, wearing fancy clothes and jewelries, travel abroad most. Even businessman who have legitimate business cannot afford to travel to Paris, Brazil, US, so on so forth. I think its time now that all politician should be transparent. Declare all your income and expenses as well, don’t hide, so that people will trust you. You bet congressman salary alone cannot finance travel abroad like Brazil, France. How much more there were travelling together.

I have no issue against benaldo making the proposal to the brazilian model under the eiffel tower in paris and then jet-setting around the globe, PROVIDED, people’s money, pork barrel and my hard-earned tax is NOT being used on the splurge.

    But I doubt it.
