Despite Pacquiao’s loss, Cagayan de Oro has some sort of consolation and pride as Fil-Am singer Chelsea Emata who sang “Lupang Hinirang,” minutes before the fight was born in Cagayan de Oro City.
Emata moved to the US by the age of five and started performing musicals in front of thousands of people when she was still 10 years old. In fact I have posted her profile before last February 15, 2010. LINK
Emata is also Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel’s cousin. She previously sang the Star Spangled Banner at the Donaire-Mathebula fight.
