As you have already read in the papers and heard in the news, Philippine Airlines will stop flying to Cagayan de Oro City and vice-versa beginning October 28, 2012 and its budget carrier, Airphil Express will takeover its flights.
Local officials have appealed to PAL management to retain Cagayan de Oro among its destinations (LINK). Airphil Express is reported to revive the PAL Express brand as announced by Ramon Ang, president of Philippine Airlines. (LINK)
Below is the official schedule of PAL Express flights effective October 28, 2012. Manila flights will use Airbus 320.

And to think that PAL is buying so many planes in its refleeting effort–the wide bodied ones ideal only for international flights, it is really a bold move that PAL is affording this when in fact the Philippine aviation market is really BUDGET WISE.
Next year is the delivery year of the 64 new aircraft from airbus. And another aircraft from boeing to complete the 100 new aircraft as part of PAL rebranding program. And even Airbus has announced it already:-).

I think wherever the budget airlines like CebuPAc operates, PAL is losing. This means that the bulk of flyers in the Philippines is for budget airlines. A city like CDO which caters to Northern Mindanao passengers will not be measured of its greatness by the kind of Airlines that comes. PAL has its own inefficiencies.

I was looking for flights to CDO when I happened to find this site. This is a great and informative site (except for the bickering)! I both love CDO and Davao. They have distinct and alluring qualities that separates them from each other. I spent my elementary years in CDO and my high school years in Davao. They are both lovely cities to live. I’m going to visit Pinas with my Sydneysider friends on December. We planned to try CDO’s river rafting and zipline. Sa mga taga CDO is it good and safe to try those activities any time of the year? I will be bringing my friends in Davao too. @fuck can you tell me which part of Davao looks like Sydney? My friends might be able to support or refute your claim. I hope everyone will be as happy and proud as I am with the developments of both cities.. after all nag-iisa lang ang Pilipinas! Salamat.

That’s why they hate this website ironic to what one of “them” posted. They cannot take the news anymore! They want to be heard! They want to be the eye-catcher of Mindanao or the Philippines! They want to be number one in all aspects! When they hear good news for cdo, they attact the website saying “WE ARE THE BEST” with pictures as if we were stunned. And by what attitude you’ve shown, I conclude that cdo is really close to davao. Progress is not measured only by # of bldgs, “premier” malls or whatsoever but also by the people living in the city. The saying “what is beauty if the brain is empty” is not only applicable to human but also to cities. No matter how literally beautiful the city is, if the people act like uneducated, then the city still not beautiful.
Hi Zeth, my aunt is from Sydney as well, and never did my aunt mention that there is a place in Davao that is comparable to Sydney. But my aunt might have missed that for some reason so lets see what Fuck has to say or suggest about that?

To all CDO Peepz! Still proud to be a Kagay-anon. I don’t even care kung Ororama ra naa sa ato-a.. Ok na kaayo ko mag grocery sa La Victoria or Kevin or sa Kei-Mart.. Ok na kaayo ko mag snack sa humbaan ni Aling Violy.. Plus dayon ang best na Tsoskolate sa Cogon market. Bahala motorela ra akong sakyan kung mag lakaw ko, pwede ra gani Trisikad.. Pa masahe dayon sa Divisoria na Tag 50 pesos.. That is whats best here in CDO, simple ra ang life. We don’t have to prove anything, we just let the projects and investments speak for themselves.. ^_^

Inyu airport(francisco bangoy) murag carmen market. I like it! Gkan lang ko dadto. The aura is so so baduy. Mas bibo pa pud ang carmen market haha… ang sm lanang hala exterior raman ang nakanice. Far far far better pa ang sm city cebu in terms of interior and tenants. I think smlp has the BIGGEST ATRIUM maybe in the philippines kai gmay raman ang shops. In short, the gfa of smlp is mainly vacant… Nothin special. Metro manila & metro cebu have still far far far more to offer… I cant even tell if which cities (cdo or dvo) has more to offer hihihi yeah! This is the truth and did it hurt you? K lang yan. At least napakalaki ng HANGIN NG smlp sin LAKI NG HANGIN na nasa ulo nyo xD

I have been an avid follower of airports in the Philippines and never did i know that Tiger Airways (not Tiger Airlines for christsake) goes to Davao. Yes Tiger Airlines sells tickets to Davao but it is codeshared with SEA Air. So technically its still SEA Air that goes to Davao and not Tiger Airways. And please take note, Tiger Airways is not a full carrier it is also a budget airline in Singapore if you don’t know about it. And no it doesn’t have direct flights to Singapore either.
And whoever said that CDO is international? Uhm i think it was just you guys making up stories again. Lolz.

Despite DAVAO’s CURSING on cdo via sendong and the recent bombing, in its own blog pa, I still WON’T wish anything ill for DAVAO. I still won’t wish that a bombing or any calamities, natural or man-made will ever happen in DAVAO. That would be UNCIVILIZED, UNCHRISTIAN and INHUMAN. CDO people, let us all continue showing our DAVAO visitors that cdo has class. And let them continue to show to the world, in this cdo blog, their WORST ATTITUDE.

But Pinaka mura talaga ang Cebu Pacific…… ang topic Airphil Express (PAL Express) to takeover PAL flights to CDO ….. hindi un magyayabang sa city nyu be Professional…… peace….

PAL shouldn’t allow flight bookings for CDO via its website only to find out that carrier is actually AirPhil. It is very misleading plus the hassle of finding out what Manila terminal to depart from. AirPhil is not living up to the standards of PAL. It is known to have delayed flights most of the time without advance notice nor consolation for wasting their customers’ time
