Here’s a map taken from the Manila Observatory of a typhoon path similar to that of Tropical Storm Washi (locally known as Sendong).
Interestingly, the day is December 16, 1920 or approximately 92 years earlier….
Washi (Sendong) was formed Dec. 11, 2011. It’s original track was NorthWest but later it changed direction entering Mindanao by way of Hinatuan and exiting in Dipolog. That night at 8:22 I checked satellite picture and Sendong was in Impasug-ong. Then brownout hits. Later, Sendong passed the Northern flank of Mt. Kitanglad among other watershed that drains to CDO River. That’s why lots of water came here & Mandulog River. Check animated satellite picture yourself here: http://www.goes.noaa.gov/sohemi/sohemiloops/shirgmscolw.html and typhoon track here: http://www.tropicalstormrisk.com/ .
