Here are latest photo updates of the long-delayed Cagayan de Oro International Convention Center (CDOICC) located at Taguanao, Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City.
Photos taken this morning revealed significant progress with the installation of glass panels on the building’s exterior. The main steel supports have also been painted red. More photos of the interior showed some splattered liquid on the arena floor. Leaking roofs perhaps?
I don’t know if the budget includes the provision of individual foamed seats. Without these, the building will just be another huge venue for so-so events. If its a convention center, individual seats should be installed. How can you invite thousands of participants without ergonomic seats? Their backs would certainly hurt and the result is that they would stand up, leave the venue and go somewhere else comfortable.
The immediate surrounding badly needs landscaping too.
If authorities decided to finish this project, they should have at least made it attractive. Otherwise, event organizers would rather hold their functions in the downtown area where more facilities are being planned. Still, I’m hoping the prononents would make this project worth the wait.
