Limketkai and Sons Inc. has started clearing the site for the planned four-lane road connecting Limketkai Avenue to JR Borja Extension.
In doing so, the company gets a three-year exemption on paying various taxes to the City Government of Cagayan de Oro amounting to roughly P28 million. The amount accordingly would be used for the road widening and concreting of the four-lane road (P18 million); and installation of street lamps, sidewalk and drainage systems in the amount of close to P8 million.
Below are recent photos at the site. As shown, the first block of houses of informal settlers have been demolished. Accordingly, the affected families were relocated at the city’s Camaman-an Relocation Site. You can probably notice the high wall at the back. This is probably one of the private properties affected which the company volunteered to pay the just compensation for road-right-of-way.
