Former Chicago Bulls center Luc Longley arrived in Cagayan de Oro City to conduct NBA Cares activities in the city in relation to typhoon Sendong.
The 7-2 Australian, who won 3 NBA titles with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen from 1996-1998, became the first Australian to play in the league when he was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1991. In 2006, Longley was inducted into Basketball Australia’s Hall of Fame and into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2009.
