The inevitable operation of Laguindingan Airport has already spurred investments in the western part of the province close to the airport.
After Club South Pacific Resort in Gitagum town, A Brown Company, Inc. is the latest big investor with a 10-hectare mixed-use development project located at Brgy. Pagahan, Initao, Misamis Oriental, a mere 22 kilometers or only 20-minute ride from Laguindingan Airport.
The seaside residential development includes a P30 million clubhouse. The project will have a total number of 400 lots at an average lot cut of 250 sq.m. Phase I of the project will comprise 100 lots. Based on the subdivision plan, Cluster A has 50 saleable lots with an area of 2.2 hectares. Click HERE for source of info.
Aside from residential lots, the project also has commercial lots. Other amenities include a swimming pool, restaurant, beach cottages, garden, playing grounds, parking areas and resort facilities. Construction activities taken onsite are lot grading, excavation of drainage and installation of culverts. The photos were taken in middle of last year during its initial stages of development. As the tarp states, the development is initially called “PASEO PRINCESA BEACH PARK”. Maybe as of today, construction could be at 30% completed.
More of these investments are expected once the airport starts to operate… There are similarities between LADP and Mactan International Airport in Cebu – (1) both airports were constructed away from urban areas; (2) areas near the airport are planned for industrial purposes (MEPZA and Ayala Light Industrial Park); (3) the airport operation spurred development of more resorts and the like. Hopefully, such development will repeat in this part of the country.
