Here are the latest photo updates of Centrio Mall and Hotel, Ayala Land’s mixed use development located at the heart of Cagayan de Oro City.
Construction is still in full blast. The entire external shell of the edifice is almost done except in the northwest section where there seems to be an additional floor or 2 of the supposed 3-storey mall. Or maybe this could be just part of the architecture design. You can see the steel bars protruding at least two more floors atop the 3rd floor as shown below. Maybe this is the BPO Building whch was in the original plan and again established on top of the mall. Due to the lot size, everything is built on top of the mall.
It clearly shows additional levels on this section while the eastern section remains to be just 3 levels.
Meanwhile, concreting in various areas of the mall are still underway.
Work on the anchor store also continues but at a slower pace. As shown, the main concrete columns are very clear. In my observation, there will be no access to the anchor store from the ground floor. All access will be in the upper floors.
Centrio will not be complete without the landscape surrounding the huge Acacia trees as shown. You can just imagine how this area looks when completed. I could see open coffee shops, diners, snack bars, benches to coll off under the huge century old tree.
The high ceiling height is characteristic of Ayala’s malls.
Earthfilling is still ongoing at the anchor site.
Photos below taken across CM Recto. Kukun Hotel clearly stands out. This will be dwarfed soon by Centrio Tower which will be three times as tall as the hotel.
Here’s a shot taken from Gaisano City. This is perhaps the same angle of the perspective of Centrio. Compare the two.
Centrio is scheduled to open in October 2012.
