The Misamis Oriental Meteors put on a clinical show with a relatively easy 90-64 thumping of the MP Warriors of GenSan at the start of the SMC Liga Pilipinas Conference V Super Leg last night at the Xavier University Gymnasium.

Egay Billones led a balanced attack with 14 points as every player fielded by Coach Jun Noel scored. The Meteors had their biggest lead at 35 points, 84-49, midway through the final quarter as burly Ken Bono and guard Rudy Lingganay continued to score.

In the first game, Nat Cruz made a buzzer-beating triple to lift the National Champion M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Ninos over the top-seeded Cebu Landmasters RDAK-Mandaue, 72-71.
