Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Vicente Emano has ordered the transfer of Night Café to the Rodelsa Circle and Velez Street Extension.
This after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced that concreting of both RN Abejuela and Tirso Neri Streets will be made simultaneously. Accordingly, DPWH has contracted two firms to work on both streets targetted to be completed before August. The P10- million budget for the project was lobbied by Rep. Rufus Rodriguez.
The closure of the two main Divisoria roads will result to more traffic and this has to be coordinated with the city’s Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA).
Meanwhile, the Rodelsa Circle is a growing night spot in the city. However, the RTA should disallow parking along the circumferential road of the Circle to have continuous flow of traffic.
The temporary relocation at Rodelsa Circle is said to be a prelude to the eventual permanent transfer of Night Café at the Golden Mile near City Hall. The numerous complaints regarding traffic and other nuisance prompted the idea. Afterall, the Night Café along the river is part of the concept of the Golden Mile. The Golden Mile transfer is set to be carried out in September after the resumption of civil works on the Golden Mile project.
